The Little Engine that Could … could not.

It is that time of year, when I blog about the annual Peace on Earth Hunt, the longest running gridwide hunt in SL. And I always take time to heap praises upon the founder-organizer, Sequoia Nightfire, who devotes many months and untold amounts of energy each year to making this hunt happen.

In previous blogs, I have described Sequoia as having “nerves of steel and the patience of a saint,” and of being a “holiday magic worker.” I have even hinted that “… she must lock herself away in a closet for the rest of the year, conserving her energy for just this event.” But the one description which seems to fit best is “The Little Engine that Could,” because “she just keeps right on chugging along.”

But this year, the Little Engine that Could .. just could not do it. So, without her leadership, no hunt was planned.

However, so many people expressed disappointment that, with only two weeks to go before the start date of the hunt, members of her staff from previous years joined together and sent out an announcement that if designers could help them meet the start date [December 1st], there would be a hunt this year.

The seventh annual Peace on Earth Gridwide Hunt [POE7] starts December 1st, and runs through January 6th, 2015. There are 117 stores participating in this year’s hunt. An official starting point will be published shortly, or you can just jump right in wherever you see the POE7 sign displayed.

For further information, visit the POE7 website.

Well done, Friends of Sequoia. The Little Engine that Could Not … can, with a little help from her friends.
